As the Chet community continues to grow this Fall, we’re excited to share some podcasts that have been shared on the app the first week of October. This is a great list with a lot of really interesting and insightful topics that we believe have some useful knowledge.

  1. Jocko Podcast: Episode #249 About Face

The Jocko Podcast is all about leadership and discipline principles. In this episode, hosts Jocko Willink, a decorated Navy SEAL officer and leadership expert, and Echo Charles, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighter, discuss the memoir About Face by Colonel David Hackworth. The book details Col. Hackworth’s life of patriotism and service and his work to challenge the Pentagon on the misconceptions of the Vietnam war. Jocko and Echo read excerpts of the book and discuss how it remains a guide for leadership today. This is an excellent episode for anyone looking to boost your leadership abilities.

2. a16z Podcast: How to Decide, Convey vs. Convince, & More

This podcast comes from the renowned venture capital firm, Andreessen Horowitz, and delves into the VC world. This episode jumps into the psychology of decision making and the processes people go through to make a decision. Host Jeff Jordan brings decision-making expert and poker player Annie Duke to discuss her new book Decide: Simple Tools for Better Choices about how people think about making their decisions.

3. Dan Snow’s History Hit: The Hunt for the Killers of Julius Caesar

British historian Dan Snow covers some of the most exciting and fascinating historical events on this podcast. This episode is no different, where he examines the aftermath of the assassination of Julius Caesar. Joined by author and journalist Peter Stothard, the two discuss Caesar’s adopted son, Emperor Augustus, and his quest to exact vengeance upon his father’s killers. In this episode, Gates challenges the notion that extroverts make the best teammates and leaders. This episode has some fantastic insights into organizational behavior and dynamics that can help any organization.
